Our role

MarginNerve provides profitability analytics to Shopify merchants. For store and order data processed to provide the service, the merchant determines the purpose of processing and MarginNerve acts as a service provider or data processor.

Data we process

We process the shop domain, Shopify resource identifiers, product and variant titles, SKUs, unit-cost snapshots, and the minimum order, line-item, refund and transaction financial facts needed to calculate contribution profit. We also store merchant-created cost rules and derived profit, confidence and risk results.

MarginNerve does not request or store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, payment-card details or bank details. Webhook payload bodies are hashed and discarded rather than retained.

How we use data

Data is used only to authenticate the merchant, synchronize eligible Shopify records, calculate and display profitability, identify margin risks, operate subscriptions, secure the service, provide support and meet privacy-law obligations. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Retention and deletion

Order financial facts are retained according to the active plan's history window: 30, 90 or up to 365 days. Completed job metadata and processed webhook receipts are removed after 30 days. Privacy exports expire after seven days. Customer-redaction requests delete the applicable order records, and shop-redaction requests delete the merchant account, sessions and associated business data after the required Shopify waiting period.

Security and service providers

We use encrypted HTTPS connections, encrypted managed database storage, tenant-scoped access controls and least-privilege Shopify API scopes. Shopify provides the commerce platform and DigitalOcean provides application and database infrastructure. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services.

Your choices and requests

Merchants can uninstall MarginNerve at any time. Shopify privacy webhooks are used to receive customer data access, customer redaction and shop redaction requests. For questions or requests, contact the support channel shown on the MarginNerve Shopify App Store listing.
